Through some very special events, we are able to raise the funds needed for our programs while sharing our enthusiasm with friends and supporters. Here is a “calendar” of our scheduled special events.

Tucson Culinary Festival
New Beginnings is a proud beneficiary of the Tucson Culinary Festival each fall. The Festival celebrates the best local food, flavors and chefs with reserve tasting, wine and cocktail seminars, chef competitions and much more. A silent auction highlights the Grand Tasting, and special gifts are also raffled each year. Family-to-Family
As we approach the winter holidays, New Beginnings organizes the Family-to-Family program, where generous families and businesses sponsor anonymous gift-giving to the children and their mothers from New Beginnings. Sponsors donate toys, clothes, household necessities, gift-cards and other items according to the wish-lists of those families. Volunteers sort and wrap the gifts in holiday wrapping paper and sparkly, shiny bows. To get involved in such a wonderful program, call our Outreach Coordinator at (520) 325-8800.

Poinsettias
During the annual poinsettia sale fundraiser, these beautiful live plants, native to Mexico, are the perfect accents for your home during the holidays. New Beginnings wants to provide you with the most beautiful poinsettias in town. Plants can be ordered in advance from October through November. Please call Erin at 325-8800 to order your plants.

Awards Luncheon
The New Beginnings for Women and Children Annual Awards Luncheon is the time that we honor the successes of the women in our program. We also select one woman from the Tucson community who personifies our mission as the luncheon honoree. The luncheon is one of our most successful fundraisers. It’s a chance to showcase the accomplishments of everyone involved in the organization and we encourage you to see what it’s all about. The 6th Annual Awards Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. More details TBA.

Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Clubs are swinging and golf carts are rolling when the annual golf tournament comes around. The fundraiser is full of games, prizes and a lot of fun competition. This year’s tournament will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Loews Ventana Canyon Golf Club. For more information, contact Erin at 325-8800.
